Privacy Policy — VasaviBuddy

1. What we collect

Account details: name, email address, and college roll number.
Order details: items ordered, amounts, pickup times, and order status.
Payment status information from our payment processor (Razorpay). We never see or store your card, UPI PIN, or banking credentials.
Vendor payout details (UPI ID) provided by canteen vendors for settlements.

2. How we use your data

To process your food orders and enable secure QR-based pickup.
To prevent duplicate accounts using your roll number.
To settle payments with canteen vendors and maintain order history.
To keep the platform secure (fraud prevention, abuse throttling, audit logs).

3. What we never do

We never sell your personal data.
We never show advertising or share data with advertisers.
We never store your payment credentials — payments are handled entirely by Razorpay.

4. Data sharing

Your data is shared only with: (a) the canteen vendor fulfilling your order (name, roll number, and order contents), and (b) our payment processor Razorpay for transaction handling. Platform administrators can view operational data solely to run the canteen service.

5. Data retention & deletion

Order and ledger records are retained for accounting and audit purposes. You may request deletion of your account at any time from the Profile screen in the app or via our account deletion page. Deletion removes your personal profile; anonymised financial records may be retained as required for accounting.

6. Security

All traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. Payments are verified server-side. Access to data is restricted by role-based access control.
